Do Patti is Kriti’s first film as a producer, in which Kanika Dhillon is also with her. Being a female producer, the film has two very talented actors in the lead roles and that is the magic of the film. Thanks to OTT, women are no longer ornaments in films. And it is really amazing to see Kriti grow as an actress and reach the National Award. I thought Kriti’s dual roles as Soumya Sood and Shelley were the most challenging. The film revolves around twin sisters and this is Kriti’s first double role which she has played very well.
Enmity between siblings, domestic violence, childhood trauma, jealousy, Netflix’s Do Patti has it all. Do Patti is an emotionally engaging thriller that has been intelligently made by filmmaker Shashank Chaturvedi. Kriti Sanon’s brilliant acting has captivated it to the core, who adapts brilliantly from one character to another.
The twin sisters are completely opposite characters and Kriti has played these characters with great ease. This Netflix film is so attractive that you will be surprised to see the rivalry between the two sisters. Seeing how competitive, cunning and clever Shelley (Kriti Sanon) can be will make you wonder if they are actually sisters or not. The other sister Saumya Sood (Kriti Sanon) is a polite girl, who always gets the worst. But he is also at fault. Why does she always let people control her?
Saumya Sood (Kriti Sanon) becomes a victim of domestic violence and also has unhealthy competition with Shelly (Kriti Sanon) who tries to woo her sister’s rich boyfriend. She is obsessed with the love and affection that Soumya receives from all sides and is unable to tolerate it for many reasons.
There is also a message in the film that if you have to lie for the good of the society, then it is wiser to tell the truth. And once again, Netflix’s Do Patti has shown that women are neither ornaments, nor real life nor reel life. Every character has an important role, Be it Shaheer Sheikh, Tanvi Azmi, Vivek Mushran or Brijendra Kala. But could Do Patti have been written better than this? Oh yes! And the biggest thing is that it has been written by Kanika Dhillon. The writing did not have the punch of Kanika Dhillon.
Dhillon has a great way of getting into the minds of the characters and playing with them, but here in this Netflix film, we don’t see ‘Kanika Dhillon’s power’.
